7 things you never knew about me

The other day the beautiful Kat Caravella from Mamma’s Vida tagged me in her Versatile Bloggers Award post – I was so excited to see my name in the same post as Award that I momentarily forgot that I am hate awards and the competition that comes along with them – but more about that later . The Versatile Bloggers Award basically asks of you to tell your audience seven things about you that they didn’t know before (or at least that is how I interpreted it).

It’s a funny thing when you blog and use social media a lot, people believe they know everything about you – but of course they don’t, they only know the bits you share which is why coming up with 7 things you don’t know about me was both easy and hard. But I think I did it

  1. I hate wearing shoes. Wherever I am and whatever I am wearing, I would rather be barefoot
  2. I detest shopping. Shopping centres make me claustrophobic and insecure
  3. I have an extremely addictive personality. This has got me into all sorts of trouble in the past but for this minute my only addiction is Candy Crush which is the healthiest of all my addictions I can think of so I’m good with that
  4. I am not good with crowds. That’s not true – I absolutely detest crowds
  5. I hate competitions of any kind. I feel sorry for the losers and I cringe at the thought of being a winner
  6. I really don’t like birds. Even though I am a huge animal lover and I would never harm (or eat) a bird I really don’t think they’re very nice creatures
  7. I have never seen ET, The Notebook or the end of The Sound of Music
  8. This in turn in sildenafil india price the end leads to erectile dysfunction to a person. Blood muscles unfasten, with the intention icks.org free viagra consultation that blood can flow in. There also are alterlocal requirements for PTDE courses, for example the total course time will consist of 66 hours (32 in course curriculum and 34 hours in behind the wheel practice. viagra brand women viagra pills As soon as you opened the door you could hear the staccato clacking of a hundred ivory balls punctuated by the crash of a break shot.

Surprised at all?  Or did you always suspect me of being a shoeless addict that hates shopping, people, competitions, birds and movies?

Tell me seven things I might not know about you and if you’ve already participated in this before – drop me a link to your blog in comments so I can read your post

  1. I’m SHOCKED! I never thought about you being a barefooter! Coming from North Qld, it’s the norm for us. Heck we even pick up things with our toes! But I never pictured you as being one of us, Lana! I hate shopping centres and crowds too. Plus… I hate crows. You and I have quite a lot in common it seems x

  2. Seems we’re also a little bit similar – I also am much more comfortable barefoot (summer), slippers (winter), hate shopping (especially for clothes and shoes), definitely don’t do well with crowds and as for movies – have never seen the Wizard of Oz (the witch scares me) or ET.

As for me, it’s tough thinking of seven interesting things to share:

    1. Can’t stand having things over the top of my face, it makes me scared that I can’t get fresh air.
    2. I think I love my dog more than I love anyone else.
    3. I dream about the day that I can eat everything I love and not put on any weight

Can’t think of anything else, so this will have to do! Hopefully once I read other responses, I’ll be able to add numbers 4–>7

    • All three on your list apply to me as well but I thought those were things people already knew about me 😉 xxx

  3. First, your mention is so lovely! Thank you xx
Second, your Candy Crush addiction is hilarious and I am completely the same with shopping centres (in that I hate them, hate hate hate). That’s why my credit card takes a beating online.
Third, I’m so glad you entered this ‘competition’ despite your feelings towards them, because then we wouldn’t have known about your bird fear/dislike as well as all the other little quirky Lana facts

    Thanks for playing Lans xxx

  4. I saved this post from yesterday and just read it now. I am glad I did as I needed something to lighten the mood on an otherwise sad and tragic day around the world.
OK, and I am not that surprised by this but I can relate to 6 of your 7 points about yourself. I am just going to add one, then:
I suffer from buyer’s remorse. All. The. Time. I think this is a symptom of my ‘over thinking’ personality. But I can’t get it right. Ever. Actually, not entirely true. For some reason I can shop in the US easily!

    • I over think everything too – but thought that was well enough known not to include it in a list no-one knows about me 😉

Funnily enough I can’t shop in the US because I keep worrying that I am only buying it because I am overseas!

    • I fully understand buyers remorse – my husband and I both suffer from it from time to time – we call it PPS (post purchase syndrome). My solution – only buy where you can return, and don’t lose receipts! (And every now and then break out in complete recklessness – coming home with one or two items!) yes, not a big shopper …

  5. I’ve never seen the Notebook either!
One thing about me…. I hate talking on the phone. Which is really challenging!

  6. See, that’s really interesting – I would have pictured you and Kerri shopping blissfully together, so that’s a surprise! And I reckon you could have split up your three movies to create nine facts (and I haven’t seen the first two either and have absolutely no desire too – although so many people seem to watch The Notebook repeatedly – like a women’s version of Shawshank Redemption or something? Don’t get the appeal of any of them. But do love other movies).

As for me, lots of things you wouldn’t know, in addition to those above.
    1. In contrast to you, I always wear shoes or at least socks, otherwise my feet freeze (or it feels weird in summer – need at least thongs)!,
    2. I always wear my watch (even to bed – only comes off when swimming or in the shower) and wedding rings
    3. I need my bed properly made in order to sleep (have been known to make my husband get out so we can make it properly).
    4. Am realising I may be a creature of habit (as I mentally run though the fact that breakfast is always the same, I don’t like being thrown out of routines …I’ll stop there).
    5. I am so happy that my daughter has a) just played her first ever game of basketball and b) will have her last gymnastics competition for the season this weekend (am over them)
    6. I am just heading off to watch son’s basketball match – and again, this is making me realise how many more activities our kids do compared to us, and
    7. I am so new to blogging that I don’t know how to link my blog (which I guess I could work out if I sit down and read the word press info, which may be a good idea).

    Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Well … I also hate speaking on the phone; detest crowds and hate shopping … here’s my 7!
    1. I have a visceral hatred, fear, phobia of cockroaches.
    2. I detest peas.
    3. I cannot look at any animal in pain, lonely, cold, abandoned without wanting to take it home.
    4. I’ve never read any of the “classic” books through to the end. The only 2 I have read that might fall in that category are The Portrait of Dorian Gray and The Phantom of the Opera.
    5. Sometimes I pretend I have read Wuthering Heights and others …
    6. I sometimes buy Farex Rice Cereal (for babies) for me to eat because I love it.
    7. I sniff shoe polish … because it smells amazing.
I really am a strange person.

  8. I had to comment, Lana (sorry I’m so late!) just to tell you that on reading your 7 points, I realise we are Siamese twins separated at birth. 🙂 Except for point 6…

Are hens birds? I see them more as pets(released from a life of servitude) and egg/fertilizer making machines. If you look at our latest editions http://bit.ly/1orK30l, I don’t think you’ll hate them! xx

  9. My apologies for delayed comment. I could relate to so many of your 7 listed but especially No. 6. I recently was on holiday and stumbled across a falconry display, when they let the Owl out you wouldn’t believe who it flew toward and landed at my feet, yes me!! out of 40 others. It took all my strength to stand still – eek!!!

I have celebrated your post on my blog and listed my own 7 things. http://redletterthursday.blogspot.com.au/2014/07/7-things-about-me.html

    Thanks for a great blog!
